GEMS student delegation to the Vatican on behalf of the Varkey Foundation. At the invitation of Scholas Occurrentes we led a delegation of ten students to the vatican to present to the Pope and to work via Scholas Occurrentes with other young people from all continents of the world.  The group worked on global issues pertinent to young people and worked collaboratively in groups of mixed faith and culture to develop networks of tollerance.

Hi Holiness Pope Francis spoke to us for nearly an hour about his passion for the future and how only by working together we can make this happen.

Schools for Asia was a collaboration between the Varkey Foundation and UNICEF; "through the Varkey Foundation, GEMS schools are encouraged to support the UNICEF Schools for Asia initiative and make a direct impact on young people’s education, health and well-being in India, Philippines, Papua New Guinea, Nepal and Vietnam. This will be implemented through awareness and fundraising campaigns at school level throughout 2014".
During the programme I led a delegation that visited Nepal to see the impact of the programme on the ground and to engage not only with workers but families and children receiving support. Feeding back to the Foundation, schools and families.
